Tanzania has a rich safari history in East Africa, and this action-packed itinerary is a fitting tribute. Your starting point is Arusha, the gateway to the northern Serengeti plains and home to some of the country’s finest coffee farms. A night at Arusha Lodge will let you sleep off your jet lag and prepare you to enjoy the early morning in Tarangire National Park.
Upon arrival at Tanzanian’s Kilimanjaro International Airport, a vehicle waits to transfer you to Arusha. The city lies in a green, fertile environment against Mount Meru. It is a vast city with all its contradictions.

After breakfast, we depart for the Tarangire National Park. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation primarily consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. During Tanzania’s dry season, the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals. The Tarangire is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African National Park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and a few Ashy Starlings. After a picnic lunch, we do an afternoon game drive.

Journey to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge
After breakfast, we continue by road from our Lodge to the Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge. We stopped to visit the Olduvai Museum and Gorge, where fossils of our earliest human ancestors and their tools have been unearthed. There is also the option of visiting a Maasai village to encounter Tanzania’s best-known ethnic group – the semi-nomadic Maasai. Then, we enjoy an en-route game drive to our luxury-tented camp into the world-renowned Serengeti National Park.
Explore the Vast Serengeti Wilderness
Spend time at wildlife games and view the beautiful Serengeti. The largest national park in Tanzania, Serengeti, covers about 14 760 km² of open plains and wilderness. This unique wildlife reserve hosts an awe-inspiring abundance of large mammals, including masses of herbivores such as wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, buffalo, and hartebeest. The Serengeti Park is famous for predator populations and giant cats – lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Enjoy an early breakfast and spend the day wildlife viewing in the Serengeti; then, we depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a game drive en route.

Wildlife Exploration in Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a six-hour game drive in this exceptionally wildlife-rich park. Ngorongoro, the world’s largest unflooded caldera, hosts one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife. Almost every large mammal species in Africa, from black rhinos to spotted hyenas, is commonly sighted on game drives in this crater.
In the late afternoon, immerse yourself in Tanzania’s rich culture with visits to local villages and interactions with indigenous communities. Learn about their traditions, cuisine, and daily lives. Then, Drop off Arusha.
