Machame will appeal to the hiker who loves the wild, nature and peace. This route is named whisky route due to its tougher, challenging and rugged climbing and ideal for stronger and physically fit hikers compared to Marangu route. Gigantic trees rear up in clearings. Giant ferns. The path appears to be very steep, the sound of water dripping down the tree trunks. A bag of rusting leaves on the ground ,rotten branches ,slippery mosses, leaf mold, humus, roots and tree stumps rubbed to a sheen by passing climbers. The porters hang their loads up in the creepers that dangle from the trees. They are covered with lichen and thorns The tree tops crash together in the wind ,there must be creepers going all the way from the top to the bottom of the forest. Green surroundings, an ear splitting scratch by a go-away bird along the path.
